T1

The Pro-Tisserie T-1 is designed to be a serious tool for the serious cup artist. It functions well as a primary turner for the light volume user, but also equally well as an 'easel' for a higher volume user. The T1 wasn't just cobbled together with some off the shelf parts- It was engineered from the ground up to be the ultimate cup turner. What sets it apart?

First, the base of the T1 is machined from solid 6061 grade aluminum. Aluminum provides an excellent combination of strength, light weight, and corrosion resistance. Each piece is machined, holes are drilled and tapped, and then assembled with machine screws.

The frame is made of a high strength plastic . We make each piece here in our shop, on FDM printing machines. The result is a precise and strong, yet lightweight, part. Another great advantage is that we can make them in pretty much any color you want.

Then there is the motor. The vast majority of cup turners on the market today use 110v AC motors- The kind that you plug directly into the wall. Many use converted grill rotisserie motors. While the motors work, they are notorious for running hot. Also, AC 'household' current can be an electrocution hazard if the turner isn't wired correctly. We chose a different route.
The powerful, yet compact, DC motor

Our machines are powered by a 12v DC motor. The motor is quiet, and runs cool for hours. DC motors also provide ample torque (turning power!) through a variety of speeds. Our standard motor runs from about 2 RPM to 10 RPM, allowing you to speed up or slow down the motor as you see fit. We didn't just grab a motor and go with it- specifications were researched, and several different models were tried until we found the right combination of power, efficiency, and size.

But that's not all. The motor selected has an all metal worm gear reduction drive box. What does this mean to you? When the unit is not on, the gear box is 'self locking', so the spindles won't turn. This allows you to get the spindles on and off without difficulty- Solving one of the complaints that people had when we were first researching the possibility of making turners.

Unlike other turners, the T1 features user-selectable speeds from 2-10 rpm the the standard motor. It is possible to slow the cup down or speed it up as needed by turning a dial, which is on the included power supply. The power supply plugs in to the wall- Then into the turner- you select your speed, and start creating. It couldn't be easier. And, since it's DC power, it would not only be possible but actually fairly easy to operate the turner off of battery packs. Do you want to demonstrate (or just have a spinning cup on display) at a craft show that has no power available? No problem!

We have designed the T1 to be the best turner out there. Try one, and we think you'll agree!
